SKT T1 entering League of Legends

The famous Starcraft 2 team SKT T1 is creating a League of Legends section and entering the Korean competition.

SKT T1 win their first worlds

The first korean team to win the world championship. The new era in League of Legends is carry by 5 koreans by the name of Impact, Bengi, PoohManDu, Piglet and a little genius in the midlane Faker.

2015

Second Words win & the beginning of a dynasty

After not making it to worlds in 2014 the team made some changes and recruit future T1 legends such as Bang, Wolf, Easyhoon and Marin. The team did a pretty impressive 2015, winning Spring Playoffs against a young team of Tigers. In the MSI they reach the final and lost against the Chinese team, EDG.

For the second part of the season they had a record of 17-1 in regular season, they finish the playoff with a 3-0 against KT Rolster and made it to Worlds. During this Worlds run they only lost one game. They won the final with a 3-1 against the Tigers and start the T1 Dynasty.

2016

Keep the success going with a first MSI win

2016 start with some changes in the team, Marin and Easyhoon left and the new members are Duke, Blank and substitute Scout. They first tournament was the IEM and swept the tournament. The team manage to win the playoff 3-1 in final against the Tigers again.

The team arrive as the favorite but struggle during the group stage and ended their group stage with a 6-4 record, seeding them as the fourth team in the bracket. In semifinals they match up against Royal Never Give Up of Mata. SKT T1 start regaining their form and beat 3-1 the Chinese then taking a easy 3-0 in final against CLG and lifting their first MSI trophy that barely escaped then last year.

2016

Adding the third star by winning the best match of History

Starting strong the summer split with a 5-0 the team start to struggle a bit and dropped some games placing them second in the round robin. During the Playoff SKT took a reverse sweep from KT Rolster and finish third. With the points won from their first place in Spring and thanks to the victory of the crowd favorites ROX Tigers over KT Rolster, the team qualified as Korea second seed.

2017

New Members, still winning

Duke and Bengi left the team and were remplace by Huni in toplane and the jungle genius from ROX Tigers, Peanut. They easily won the spring split and they will defend their MSI trophy.

The team finish first in the group stage, swept the Flash Wolves in Semifinals then beating the European G2 3-1 in finals. The team got their second MSI and looked unbeatable.

2017

The end of a dynasty

During the summer split the team start to falter and finished fourth. They made an impressive run in the playoff managing to reach the final by reverse sweep KT Rolster. Favored for the finals they lost against Longzhu Gaming 3-1 but they would still qualify for Worlds as second seed.

2019

SKL T1 changes name and rebrand as T1

After the lost in 2017, SKT struggle to find success. In 2018 they didn't qualify for an international tournament and at the end of the year Bang, Wolf and Blank left the team leaving Faker the only one from the SKT dynasty team. In 2019 with Khan, Clid, Teddy and Mata they won the spring split against a young generation of geniuses Griffin and qualify for MSI. But during MSI they face the strongest team this year, G2 and lost 3-2 in semifinal. They add another LCK victory in summer against Griffin again. SKT T1 final back in worlds but 2019 was the year of G2 and they lost against the european 3-1 in semifinal.

2022

Back in Finals with homegrown rookies

After a hard 2020 season and T1 start rebuilding in 2021 and recruit the promising support Keria but didn't make it to MSI. So in summer T1 start a bigger rebuilding with rookies from the academy Oner and Gumayusi. With the young players they made it to worlds as third seed but lost in semifinal against korean first seed Damwon 3-2.

2022

Tough lose for the young players

After a good MSI the team drop some series in LCK but made it to finals against GenG. They took a big hit and lost 3-0 and Chovy finally lift his first LCK.

2023

First success & the start of a new dynasty

2023 saw the addition of ex-T1 player Tom and Roach as coach. The season start well for T1 with a 17-1 record in spring split, but again lost against GenG in finals. They still qualify for MSI because of the format changes. But this time they first lost in playoff against the superteam JDG and against BLG in loser bracket.

Fifth star and back to back
2024

Back to Back and fifth star

in 2024 the team add a new head coach and who other than a legendary coach to fill those shoes, kkOma came back in T1. The season goes and looks the same, T1 lost against a strong GenG in LCK playoffs, made it to MSI and lost against BLG on the doorstep of the final. In Summer they didn't even reach the playoffs finals.

2025

Three in a row with a new toplaner

2025 start with a sad news for the fans, Zeus is leaving the team and replace by Doran. The team also got Roach leaving for military services and Mata joined as assistant coach. The team didn't qualify for Riot new International Event, First Stand. But qualify for the MSI as second seed. In MSI they reach the finals against GenG and GenG bring the trophy home after a 3-2 series.
